The Half Marathon begins with a gradual climb from Portree, leading to a thrilling downhill stretch. The scenic single-track route then winds through breathtaking countryside, often flanking the world-famous salmon and sea trout river, the River Snizort. Be prepared for a course that truly showcases Skye's raw natural beauty.

    • 17:00 - 20:00: Registration & Bib Pick-up at Portree High School
  • Saturday, 13th June (Race Day):
    • 08:30 - 09:45: Last-chance Registration & Bib Pick-up at Portree High School (for those unable to attend Friday)
    • 09:30: Bag drop opens
    • 09:45: Registration closes SHARP
    • 09:45: SHARP - 10K runners board courtesy coaches at Portree High School to their start line
    • 10:20: Skye Pipe Band welcomes Half Marathon runners to the start line. Please move to your predicted time area.
    • 10:30: Half Marathon & 10K races start
    • 10:45: Fun Run starts
    • 11:15: Toddler Dash starts
    • Approx. 12:45: Prize giving ceremony

The Isle of Skye 10K: Conquer the Dramatic Landscape!

Returning for 2026, our popular chip-timed 10K race offers a stunning challenge for runners aged 16 and over. This race is growing rapidly in stature and popularity, so race numbers are capped at 160 – secure your spot quickly!

  • Unique Course: The 10K route begins at the 11km mark of the Half Marathon, taking you on a dedicated single-track, closed road through the island's dramatic and beautiful countryside.
  • Breathtaking Scenery: Immerse yourself in the rugged landscapes of Skye, offering a truly unforgettable running experience.
  • Convenient Start: Courtesy buses, thanks to Stagecoach, will transport you directly to the designated 10K starting point.
  • Shared Finish: Begin your race concurrently with the Half Marathon participants, creating a thrilling and supportive finish line atmosphere back in Portree.
  • Post-Race Celebration: Earn your well-deserved commemorative finisher's medal and race goodies, celebrating your achievement with fellow runners.
